Panaji: Accused in the Curchorem sexual abuse case, Soham Naik, has been rearrested by the crime branch in another case of assault involving a minor. This is the fifth FIR registered against him.“After transfer warrant, he is presently in custody of crime branch and will be produced before JMFC Quepem in the latest case tomorrow to seek police custody. He has been booked under various sections of the POCSO Act, the Goa Children’s Act and the BNS,” said an official.Police have also attached an SUV allegedly used in the crime.Earlier in the day, Naik was produced before the Goa children’s court on Tuesday and remanded in 14 days’ judicial custody after completing four days of police custody. The court allowed further questioning as the crime branch continues its probe into multiple FIRs against him.Naik is accused of sexually assaulting minor girls and young women, recording obscene videos and photographs, and blackmailing victims by threatening to circulate the material.
