FIR against Portuguese national for filing to vote

Vasco: An FIR was registered against a woman from Vasco who holds Portuguese nationality for allegedly misleading govt authorities by submitting a forged document as genuine and fraudulently enrolling her name in the 25-Vasco assembly electoral roll constituency, thereby committing an offence of forgery for the purpose of cheating.Mamlatdar of Mormugao taluka, Pravinjay Pandit, who was also the assistant electoral registration officer (AERO) for Vasco constituency, stated in his complaint that Elizabeth Luis from Bhuteabhat, Vasco, deliberately suppressed the information of her Portuguese nationality by declaring and submitting an enumeration form during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) conducted by the Election Commission of India and submitted before the mamlatdar of Mormugao through the booth level officer (BLO) of Mormugao Municipal Council.Police registered a case against Luis under Sections 223, 236, 318 (4) of BNS and Section 31 of representation of peoples act 1950.
