Dumka: Two brothers among four persons died in separate accidents allegedly involving illegal sand tractors in Godda and Dumka districts on Monday.Two brothers were run over by a speeding sand-laden tractor in Gaychhand village under Mufassil police station limits in Godda.Niranjan Mandal, 44, and Sanjay Mandal, 42, residents of Kajradah village, were returning home from work near Sundar Dam when the tractor rammed into their motorcycle. Niranjan died on the spot, while Sanjay succumbed at the Sadar Hospital.In another incident, a tractor carrying sand overturned near Sitakohbar village under Jama police station limits in Dumka, killing two labourers.The deceased were identified as Kamal Soren, 20, and Parmeshwar Marandi, 38. Both were residents of Jaruwadih village and heading towards Mayurakshi river to load sand when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The tractor flipped, crushing them to death.Officer in-charge of Jama police station Ajit Kumar, said, “The bodies have been sent to Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. The tractor has been seized. A probe is underway.”
