Iran has sparked global outrage after executing 19-year-old wrestling champion Saleh Mohammadi in a public hanging on March 20, alongside Mehdi Ghasemi and Saeed Davoudi, all arrested during January anti-regime protests. According to Iran’s judiciary-linked Mizan News Agency, the trio was convicted of killing two police officers, leading to charges of “enmity against God.” However, human rights groups allege the men were tortured, forced into confessions, and denied fair trials, intensifying international criticism and raising serious concerns over Iran’s handling of protest-related cases.
