Panaji: The department of civil supplies and consumer affairs has pushed gas agencies in areas such as Sattari, Quepem, Bardez and Porvorim having limited LPG stocks or are running out of LPG cylinder stock to amp up delivery due to excessive demand amidst the West Asia war.Several reports of gas agencies in Sattari and Quepem have emerged where the agencies are making delayed deliveries or the customers are not receiving the one-time passwords at the time of the delivery of the cylinder. Some consumers have complained of not receiving their cylinders even a month after they placed an order.

Civil supplies director Jayant Tari said oil marketing companies (OMC) have been informed about the issue, which will subsequently instruct the gas agencies to make special arrangements for quicker deliveries and complete pending orders.“There are some areas where agencies have excessive demand, but not enough delivery vehicles to finish the due process. We spoke to the OMC, since the agencies get their cylinders from the bottling plants, and asked them to depute more vehicles and take special measures to complete deliveries. We are keeping track of areas that are running out of stock quickly. As of Friday, gas agencies at Tivim, Quepem and Porvorim were facing supply shortages.
The issue should normalise once the pending deliveries are done,” said Tari.
