Guwahati: Gauhati University (GU) commemorated Asom Chatra Divas on March 31 in honour of the birth anniversary of Upendra Nath Brahma, widely respected as Bodofa and regarded as the ‘Father of the Bodos’.
Opening the event, Ranjan Kr Kakati, the director of students’ welfare at GU, spoke about Bodofa’s leadership as president of the All Bodo Students Union and his efforts for the rights and progress of the Bodo community. He also stressed the importance of Bodofa’s ideals, including discipline, integrity and democratic values.
