Gumla: The Gumla administration on Monday organised special health camps at 11 habitations of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) in four blocks on Monday.The camps were held at Jalim, Sakhuwatoli and Khairipaat under Bishunpur block, Kakarpaat, Dokapaat, Bhaghlatapaat and Brahmpur-Joblapaat of Chainpur block, Ghaghrapaat, Kodle and Ghorapathal of Ghaghra block and Bandhkona under Dumri block.
Patients were distributed medicines by doctors after they were screened.Similar camps will be held at Perhapaat under Bishunpur block and Jilingsira hamlet of Ghaghra block on Tuesday.“The initiative was kicked off around four months ago. We focus on mother and child care, immunisation, non-communicable diseases, sickle cell screening, besides general tests. We will counsel mothers to eat green vegetables, spinach and drumstick leaves, which are available locally,” said Gumla civil surgeon Dr Shambhu Nath Chowdhury.The administration has asked residents to inform deputy commissioner (DC) Prerna Dixit on her mobile phone (9431116003) through a WhatsApp message if any designated healthcare provider fails to deliver services.
