Klopp spoke in a very real and warm way when talking about Salah. He said, “I know he can only enjoy it if he wins and he scores. I really hope on the last match day you will all have a smile on your face and all be happy and thankful you were part of one of the most incredible careers we will be a part of.”
Then he looked back at their time together. Klopp said, “It was a joy, a challenge, it was hard work from both sides, it was an incredible outcome, it was pretty much everything.”He also added something powerful about Salah’s level, saying, “I couldn’t imagine that something like this is possible, the numbers he produced, the performances he showed, some of them will be unmatched forever.”Salah played 349 matches under Klopp and scored 211 goals. He joined in 2017 from AS Roma for £36.5 million.
At that time, Liverpool were rebuilding, and not many expected Salah to become this big.Klopp even shared a small story from Salah’s early days. He said Salah was unsure about his place because Sadio Mane was already in the team. Klopp told him clearly he would play on the right wing. Looking back now, Klopp smiled at how much Salah has grown since that moment. Then came the big question about transfer rumours. Many believed Klopp wanted Julian Brandt instead of Salah. Klopp cleared it simply. He said, “Yes we spoke to him, but we spoke to Salah. Whatever people think, I don’t care, but in the moment we were convinced he was the one.”He made it clear that Liverpool spoke to many players, but Salah was always the right choice. Klopp also reminded everyone that Salah became part of one of the best front threes in football history.
