Luthras get five days police custody in NOC forgery case

Mapusa: The Mapusa police on Monday took custody of brothers Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, owners of the Arpora-based nightclub, Birch by Romeo Lane, in connection with the alleged forgery of a no-objection certificate (NOC).The court of the judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) remanded the duo in five days of police custody. A police officer said that following the order, the Luthra brothers were taken into custody from Colvale Central Jail.A Mapusa court on March 28 rejected the anticipatory bail application the brothers had filed after they were accused of using a fake NOC from the Candolim primary health centre to run the nightclub.“Custodial interrogation will help us uncover the extent of the alleged forgery and will also help us determine whether others were involved,” the officer said.
