Panaji: A Sunday outing turned fatal for Pale resident Tanvi Gadi, 21, after a loaded firearm was allegedly discharged accidentally by her friend Sweth Gaude, 23, also from Pale, at Kazur village in Sanguem.Police said the incident occurred around 5.30pm when a group of five friends, mostly residents of Sanquelim, visited a friend’s relative’s house located in a remote area of Sanguem. tnnSouth Goa SP Santosh Desai said that after lunch, the group went to a rear room of the house where a loaded, locally-made gun was kept. Gadi reportedly picked up the firearm and later handed it to Gaude, who was part of the group.Desai said that Gaude, unaware that the gun was loaded, pulled the trigger, causing a shot to be fired. The bullet struck Gadi in the neck, resulting in her death on the spot.Police have registered a case of murder.
