Lucknow: Based on themes of memory, struggle and complexities of society, ‘Kala Drishya’, an art exhibition, was organised at the State Lalit Kala Akademi on Sunday.Hosted jointly by AISA, Kalarav and Jan Sanskriti Manch, the exhibition brought emerging artists on a common platform and drew art enthusiasts, students and members of the public throughout the day.Students from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lucknow University participated in the exhibition adding vibrancy and diversity. Their works stood out for their experimental approach and contemporary relevance, often engaging with social concerns and emotional landscapes.The exhibition featured around 78 artworks by 46 participants, including paintings and sculptures. The works reflect both personal and collective experiences, touching on emotions, identity, social realities and everyday life.Visitors were drawn to the wide variety of styles on display, ranging from abstract expressions to realistic depictions.A participant Thalini Nisansala, whose work focused on different aspects of Mother Earth, said “The painting highlights how nature provides livelihood, food and shelter to humans and animals.” Another participant, Neha Singh, portrayed the emotions of a person leaving home and hometown in search of livelihood through the image of a baby in its mother’s lap.
The exhibition was inaugurated by former chairperson of the State Lalit Kala Akademi, Laljeet Ahir, who appreciated the initiative and underlined the importance of such platforms in encouraging artistic dialogue and creative expression.A visitor Kamaljeet Kaur said ‘Every artwork is detailed and tells a story”.
