Gurgaon: A 51-year-old shopkeeper died after falling from the second floor of a building in the Jacobpura area on Saturday afternoon.Satish Sahni, a resident of Subhash Nagar who ran a gift shop on Railway Road, was installing a signboard at his shop around 2.15pm when the incident took place.

“There was a lot of wind pressure for the past two-three days and during the incident he could not handle the pressure — the board measured 10 by 18 feet — from the wind,” an officer said.His younger brother and a neighbour were assisting him after he decided to “install it himself” to save around Rs 6,000 in labour costs, having got a new advertising board made, the officer said.Sahni was attempting to adjust the direction of the board when he lost his balance and fell onto the first floor of a neighbouring building. Hearing the commotion, his brother and the neighbour rushed to his aid, brought him down and took him to a nearby hospital in an autorickshaw, where doctors declared him dead.The body was handed over to the family after the autopsy. Inquest proceedings under Section 194 BNSS were undertaken, police said, adding that no foul play is suspected.
