Thieves steal valuables from temple in Munger

Thieves broke into Puraniganj Durgasthan in Munger, making off with valuable worship items and an Rs8,000 donation box. The theft was discovered Tuesday morning by a local youth. Police are investigating, reviewing CCTV footage, and questioning suspects. Locals protested, demanding enhanced temple security.

Patna: Unidentified thieves escaped with valuable worship items and donation boxat Puraniganj Durgasthan, located in Kasim Bazar police station area of Munger district, on Monday night.The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when a local youth arrived at the temple for routine cleaning and found the gate lock broken.According to temple management authorities, several expensive utensils and Rs8,000 kept in the donation box were stolen by the thieves.On getting information, a police team reached the spot and began an investigation.Rubikant Kachhap, SHO of Kasim Bazar police station, while confirming registration of a theft case, said investigations are underway. “Police are examining CCTV footage of nearby areas, questioning suspects, and gathering information on individuals previously involved in similar incidents.”Locals, demanding tight security at the temple, held protest.
