New Delhi: A day after the body of a 21-year-old man was discovered in a park in northeast Delhi’s Welcome area, police have arrested two men and apprehended a minor for allegedly murdering him.The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Shamim, a resident of the Lakdi Market area of Welcome.According to police, information was received about a dead body discovered in a park around 6.45 pm on Friday. “Three accused were identified as a 20-year-old from Lakdi Market, a 23-year-old from W Block and a 17-year-old minor,” said DCP (northeast) Ashish Kumar Mishra. The accused told cops that they allegedly assaulted him because he reportedly bullied them.In a separate incident, a 26-year-old man was seriously injured after he was allegedly stabbed by a group to avenge a previous murder in east Delhi’s Trilokpuri on Friday evening.A PCR call was received at Mayur Vihar police station regarding the incident in Block 27, Trilokpuri. The man identified as Huzaf from Trilokpuri was returning after getting his clothes ironed when he was intercepted near a local temple by a group of men.
“The assailants allegedly abused and threatened the victim, and one of them attacked him with a knife, causing injuries on his back and shoulder,” said DCP (east) Rajeev Kumar. “The injured managed to reach near his residence and was shifted to the hospital by his family.”The motive of the attack has been identified as a long-standing family dispute wherein a member of one of the families was murdered by the other family. The attack is believed to have been done to avenge that murder, a police officer said.Police said the accused persons have been identified and efforts are underway to apprehend them.
