Although Freddie Freeman is better known for his accomplishments on the baseball field, his life off the field centers on his small family. The Los Angeles Dodgers star and his wife, Chelsea Freeman, have three sons and are proud parents who are often seen with their father at games and other public events.
Their family story has also attracted attention because of the very unusual way their two youngest children were conceived, only weeks apart. Visits to clubhouses, touching family scenes, and much more, the Freeman boys are now well-known to those who have been paying attention to the personal life of the MLB star.
Charlie Freeman : The eldest and a familiar face at MLB games
Charlie, or Frederick Charles II, the eldest of the Freeman brothers and possibly the most famous to baseball enthusiasts, was born on September 15, 2016.
The sport has surrounded Charlie since his father had a long and successful career in the MLB, and he can be seen at games either cheering from the sidelines or hanging around the field before matches.
Both father and son have been close friends with Freddie, often sharing moments of practicing baseball with Charlie. Because of his excited demeanor at the celebrations and All-Star events, the young boy has become a fan favorite.
Several of the fans have even joked that one day Charlie will take up the footsteps of his father in professional baseball.
Brandon and Max Freeman : The “twins with a twist”
The addition of the two youngest sons to the Freeman family was unique and touching. Brandon John Freeman was born to Chelsea and named after her grandfather on December 30, 2020. Maximus Max turned out to be Maximus “Max” Turner Freeman just a few weeks later, on January 14, 2021.The fact that one of the children was born naturally and the other via a surrogate makes this couple frequently refer to Brandon and Max as twins with a twist.
Their birth was the outcome of the hard experience of the family being unable to have children, so the moment was particularly significant to the two in question. In 2024, Max endured a significant health issue when he was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare ailment that led to temporary paralysis. Then, happily, in late 2025, it was announced that he had made significant progress and was almost well. The Freeman family is expanding, too. In February 2026, Freddie and Chelsea announced that they were having their fourth child through a surrogate, and a month later, they said their baby would be their first daughter, due later that year.
