A shocking case from London has now reached its final stage, and the details are hard to ignore. A former MMA fighter, Matvei Rumiantsev, has been sent to prison after attacking his ex-girlfriend during a live FaceTime call that was being watched by Barron Trump.
The court in London sentenced the 23-year-old to a total of four years in jail. Two years are for the assault, and another two years are for trying to pressure the victim to drop the case. The judge made it clear that Rumiantsev showed no regret during the trial and kept blaming the victim instead of taking responsibility.The incident happened on January 18, 2025, in East London. What made it even more serious was the fact that Barron Trump saw part of the attack live and quickly acted by calling for help.

According to details shared in court, Matvei Rumiantsev had been drinking when he saw a FaceTime call coming in on his ex-girlfriend’s phone. The call was from Barron Trump. What triggered his anger was how the contact was saved. She had reportedly saved Barron’s name as “sweetheart,” and that made him lose control.Soon after, the situation turned violent. The court heard that he choked her and kicked her multiple times while she was on the ground.
At one point, he even showed her the incoming calls while continuing the attack.
At the same time, Barron Trump was on the other end of the call. Even though he saw only a short part of the incident, it was enough to understand something was very wrong. His reaction was quick. He contacted friends and asked them to alert the police in London.During the sentencing, the judge said, “Your lack of insight and empathy was apparent at trial.
You continue to try to blame the complainant for everything that has happened.”The court also revealed that Rumiantsev tried to interfere with the case later. While in jail, he sent a letter asking the victim to withdraw her claims. That added another charge, leading to the extra two-year sentence. Both punishments will run one after the other.There is also a chance he could be deported from the UK because of the seriousness of the crime.The victim later spoke about Barron Trump’s role. She said, “He helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment.”Even though Barron Trump did not appear in court, his statement was still used.
