Apple has started sending invites to students and developers selected to attend its Worldwide Developers Conference, WWDC 2026 Special Event at Apple Park, MacRumors report. The event, scheduled for June 8, will allow a limited number of participants to attend in person.
Apple had opened applications earlier and selected attendees through a lottery system due to limited space. Those chosen are now reportedly being notified. The annual WWDC will run from June 8 to June 12, with most sessions available online for a wider audience.
Lottery-based invites sent to developers and students
As per the MacRumors report, Apple accepted applications from interested participants until earlier this week. Eligible applicants included members of the Apple Developer Program, Apple Developer Enterprise Program, Apple Entrepreneur Camp alumni, and Swift Student Challenge winners from recent years.The attendees were selected through a random lottery process, and invitations are now being sent to those who secured a spot.
WWDC 2026 Event schedule and what attendees get
Selected participants will attend a full-day event at Apple Park. The day will begin with the keynote at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, followed by the Platforms State of the Union session.Attendees will also get access to guided tours of Apple Park, networking opportunities with Apple engineers and experts, and a dinner hosted by the company.
Apple is not charging any fee for the event, but attendees will need to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.Developers who are not selected can still follow WWDC 2026 online through Apple’s developer website and app. The company plans to host more than 100 sessions covering new features and tools, along with group labs and one-on-one support from Apple engineers.
