Aizawl: Assam Rifles along with representatives of Lungbun Police Outpost, Siaha district, have seized 18 air rifles at Niawhtlang village in southern Mizoram’s Siaha district on Thursday, a press statement issued by Assam Rifles in Aizawl said on Sunday.The press statement said the joint team recovered and seized 18 numbers of NX200 4.5mm air rifles, one PX100 4.5mm air rifle, 75,000 pellets (150 boxes) of Excite brand, one telescope for air rifle, one nitro piston for air rifle, one spring for air rifle and one mobile phone.One Myanmar national, identified as Khar Lian (36), a resident of Zaiuk, Matupi township in southern Chin state of Myanmar, was apprehended. A vehicle driven by Lian was intercepted at Niawhtlang in Siaha district. The rifles and other weapons were seized from the vehicle, the statement said.
