Guwahati: Govt Railway Police (GRP) arrested 5 suspected drug traffickers and seized 461g of heroin from two trains.GRP OC Abhishek Bodo said around 6.10 am on Tuesday, a routine check conducted at Guwahati Railway Station on Poorvattar Sampark Kranti Express heading to Delhi, which led to the arrest of three traffickers.“The arrested persons have been identified as Neha Devi (23), Jiya Singh Lucy (28) and Santosh Kumar (32) from Bihar,” the OC said. Authorities recovered 10 packets of suspected heroin, weighing 118g.The OC added that on Monday, a GRP team at Jagiroad intercepted two female passengers from Manipur’s Churachandpur district on Sairang–Guwahati Express. “The two passengers were searched, and 30 packets of suspected heroin, weighing approximately 343g, were recovered,” he added. The duo were arrested.
