Haridwar: A 55-year-old contractor who had fallen into a 30 ft-deep borewell on Wednesday was taken out on Friday evening after hours of rescue operation. He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.Manohar Singh was manually digging the borewell in Kangri village under Shyampur police station on Wednesday when a sidewall collapsed and he fell into the borewell, officials said. Police said he was hired by Vijalpal Singh, a resident of Bairagi Camp, who could not afford to use machinery.Following the incident, teams of the SDRF and NDRF were deployed for rescue operations.Mela hospital CMS Rajesh Gupta said, “Manohar was declared brought dead.”Police said Manohar Singh is survived by his wife and two children.
