A heart-tugging video making rounds on Instagram has struck a chord with parents everywhere. The video shows a small kid on his first day at school, being visibly overwhelmed with emotions.

He stands by the windows of his classroom reaching outside the video shows one hand and even one foot outside the window, crying while looking towards his mom, who tries to encourage him to hold on.

The video has the following text, “First day of school.”It might seem strange, but this is what is going to touch your heart, despite its simplicity. The thing about the video is that nothing special is happening there, yet everything looks too familiar for most people.

The beginning of school represents one of the milestones for the majority of children. They start learning something new, developing their skills, making new friends, and experiencing the process of getting used to all of the changes.

Some children may find it quite hard due to the new situation they are facing. These kinds of events also have their own emotional ambivalence for the parents. They experience pride in watching their child accomplish something, yet there is also anxiety in the case when this accomplishment is challenging.

It is not easy watching your kid struggle and keep hanging on for a little while longer. On the other hand, these events are just a small part of the process of growing up. Eventually, most kids learn to cope with their fears, start feeling comfortable in the new environment, and actually enjoy returning there.

As the video goes viral, a lot of people have also posted their views on what the video means to them. Some parents found that the video made them relive their experience when their child started school, describing it as “too real” and difficult to watch “without crying.”

Many users added that they too had faced situations like the one shown in the video, where they would stand outside their kid’s classroom, peer into the room to see if he or she was okay, or even cried themselves as they were leaving. On the other hand, this is also a soft aspect of childhood development. Gradually, the children become comfortable with their environment and actually start enjoying being dropped off at school. The difficult parting scene usually turns out to be an everyday wave goodbye to school from home. The viral video is much more than just a story about one child who refused to stay in school. The video is also about the stage of life that most parents and children must undergo.
