A 35-year-old police constable, Vikas Kumar, tragically passed away from a heart attack while undergoing training at Rajgir’s Police Training Centre. He experienced chest pain during training and collapsed en route to a private hospital in Nawada, where he was pronounced dead. Kumar, a father of two, joined the force in 2011.
Patna: A 35-year-old constable undergoing training at the Police Training Centre (PTC) in Rajgir died of a heart attack on Sunday, police said.The constable, identified as Vikas Kumar, complained of chest pain during the training on Saturday and collapsed while being taken to a private hospital in Nawada, where he was declared brought dead.Vikas, son of Ramashray Singh and a resident of Sondhi village under Buniyadganj police station area in Gaya district, was serving with the Lakhisarai district police. He joined the force in 2011 and was attending a training programme at the Rajgir centre.His postmortem was conducted at Nawada sadar hospital. Following the incident, his wife Pooja Kumari, their eight-year-old son and six-year-old daughter reached the hospital.Additional SHO of Nawada sadar police station Ram Iqbal Yadav took custody of the body and handed it over to the family after the postmortem. The police department has expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
