A quiet early morning in Mayfair turned into a scene of panic when a car suddenly drove into people standing on the street. The crash happened around 4.30am on Argyll Street, a busy road that connects Oxford Street and Great Marlborough Street.

Even at that hour, the area was not empty. Clubs and venues nearby were still open, including spots near the famous London Palladium. Emergency teams rushed in after getting calls that a car had hit pedestrians near a nightclub. A video now spreading online shows the moment everything went wrong. In the clip, a car moves toward a group of people and hits them without warning. A woman is knocked down and gets trapped under the vehicle.

People nearby run toward her, trying to help as quickly as they can.One man, who was close by and is believed to have been unlocking an e-scooter, is also hit and thrown aside. Just seconds before the crash, someone can be heard shouting, “She is going to run her over,” showing that at least one person saw the danger coming but could not stop it.

Police later confirmed that a woman in her 30s is now in hospital in critical condition.

A man in his 50s has suffered injuries that could change his life. Another woman in her 30s was also hurt but only had minor injuries and received treatment.
