Nepal’s government has decided to give salaries to its employees on a fortnightly basis to boost spending and revitalise the economy. As per the new rule, the existing monthly salaries of the employees will be divided into two halves and paid twice a month on a fortnightly basis. The finance ministry has already directed the relevant authorities to distribute salaries to the government staff every 15 days.According to the finance ministry, the move aims to ensure that employees receive their payments on time, which will increase spending and revitalise the economy. An official at the Comptroller General’s Office has confirmed that a circular has been received from the ministry and that the decision will be implemented soon.
