Jaipur: Rajasthan Assembly received a bomb threat Friday, prompting a full-scale security alert and evacuation of the premises. This is the second incident this month in which the Assembly has received a threat email.
On April 13, bomb threats sent via email to the Assembly, Rajasthan high court’s Jaipur bench, and district courts triggered evacuations and hours-long searches.Officials said the threat was sent at 9.15am to the Assembly’s official email ID, warning of a “blast” at 1 pm. The message also carried a communal line, triggering heightened concern among security agencies.Police and security teams, including the bomb disposal squad, rushed to the complex and cleared the building.
Officials and employees were moved out as teams began a systematic search. The entire complex was combed for nearly three hours, with personnel sweeping corridors, offices and entry points. No suspicious object was found during the operation. After the all-clear, officials and staff were allowed to re-enter the Assembly complex.
