Asst executive engineer held for disproportionate assets

Kendrapada: Vigilance officers arrested the assistant executive engineer of the Derabish irrigation sub-division under Kendrapada irrigation division in the district on Sunday for possession of disproportionate assets.Searches conducted on the properties of Pramod Kumar Ray on Saturday yielded disproportionate assets, including two multi-storeyed buildings — one at Bhubaneswar covering an area of 8,000 sq ft and another double-storeyed building at Choudwar covering an area approx 5,200 sq ft.They further found two plots in Bhubaneswar and Choudwar, Rs 4.48 lakh in cash, deposits of Rs 39.21 lakh in banks, which he could not explain satisfactorily. Cuttack vigilance PS case no.10/2026 has been registered against Ray in this connection under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018.
