New Delhi: A 25-year-old vegetable seller has been arrested after CCTV footage showing a man inappropriately touching an 11-year-old girl outside her house surfaced on social media.Based on the footage, police registered a case of molestation on Monday at Nihal Vihar police station and identified the accused.In another incident, an 8-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted by a man under the pretext of fixing a speaker in outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar. Police have arrested the accused.The incident was reported on April 2, and the survivor’s statement was recorded in the presence of her parents. The accused, a 32-year-old resident of Aman Vihar, was arrested and sent to judicial custody. The inquiry revealed that he lured the 8-year-old girl to his home under the pretext of fixing a speaker and sexually assaulted her.“The accused is known to the victim’s father, and both belong to the same community. Further investigation is being carried out as per statutory norms,” police said.
