Abound, the financial app for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) backed by The Times of India Group, on Tuesday unveiled its “AI Financial Autopilot”. Developed in collaboration with NEAR AI, the system uses an AI agent to handle cross-border remittances, bill payments, and other financial tasks automatically, marking a shift from advisory apps to action-oriented platforms. The product targets the 32 million Indians living abroad, who collectively send more than $125 billion home annually while managing investments, bills, and personal finances across time zones. In a statement, the company said that the AI Financial Autopilot monitors exchange rates, sends money at optimal times, handles EMIs and school fees, manages savings accounts, and even assists with lifestyle obligations such as sending gifts.Using NEAR AI’s IronClaw execution framework, every action performed by the AI agent is verifiable and traceable, it said. “We’ve spoken to countless NRIs who stay up until 3am watching exchange rates, or who miss an EMI because they were traveling. With the AI Financial Autopilot, that stress disappears. You set your preferences once, and the system handles the rest, quietly and reliably. Your financial life just runs in the background,” said Abound CEO Nishkaam Mehta.
