SALEM: Actor Benjamin, who has been actively campaigning for tourism minister R Rajendran, over the past ten days, was rushed to a private hospital in Salem on Monday after suffering sudden chest pain during a two-wheeler rally.The actor was riding through the streets appealing for votes when he abruptly complained of severe discomfort. Eyewitnesses said Benjamin appeared visibly distressed and was immediately rushed to a hospital by party cadres.Meanwhile, doctors at the Kiruba Hospital confirmed that Benjamin was under close observation and receiving treatment. One of the attending physicians, speaking on condition of anonymity, said, “The actor was brought in with acute chest pain.
He is stable now, but under continuous monitoring to rule out any complications.”The incident has caused concern among supporters, many of whom had been accompanying him during the rally. Party members expressed confidence that Benjamin would recover soon but acknowledged the strain of continuous campaigning in the summer heat.
