John Cena has finally settled into a relationship with his wife, Shay Shariatzadeh, after years of the most well-publicized liaisons. The couple has been married since 2020 and has been, and remains, a solid, enabling pair in their public gatherings as well as in interviews.Their own relationship has been more or less discreet than the previous ones Cena has featured in, which the WWE powerhouse has deliberately chosen to keep secret to respect Shariatzadeh’s privacy. Over the past few years, she has often been spotted by Cena’s side to celebrate his key moments in his professional life, as well as those related to WWE shows and media appearances. By the beginning of 2026, the couple was commonly considered one of the more reliable and low-profile relationships in the wrestling and entertainment industry.
Marriage timeline and relationship milestones
The relationship between Cena and Shariatzadeh began in February 2019, when both reportedly met at a restaurant in Vancouver during filming of the movie Playing with Fire. The relationship took off with them faster, and next time they appeared on screen during the premiere of this film in New York that year.In February 2020, the couple got engaged when Cena proposed on Valentine’s Day during a night alone at home. They finally married on October 12, 2020, in a simple, confidential ceremony at the office of a lawyer in Tampa, Florida.
They revisited their marriage two years later, in July 2022, with a larger wedding celebration in Vancouver, the city where they had started as a couple.
