Following the massive success of ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’, which grossed over Rs 320 crore, makers have unveiled ‘Mahavatar Parshuraam’, the second installment in their planned seven-part cinematic universe. The film, set to release in December 2027, will explore the life of Parshuraam, Vishnu’s sixth avatar, as he combats cruel kings who have strayed from dharma.
The animated Kannada movie ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ turned out to be a huge box office hit upon its theatrical release, crossing over Rs 320 crore and banking on its success, the makers have now announced another project named ‘Mahavatar Parshuraam’.
It will be the second instalment of the seven-part planned Mahavatar Cinematic Universe.
‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ first look
The makers shared the first poster of the film on their social media handles with the tagline that says, “Where Patience Ends, the Axe of Parshuraam Begins!” This line tells about the main idea of the story. The film will show the life of Parshuraam, the sixth avatar of Vishnu. The story is said to be about how he fought against bad and cruel kings.
These kings had left the path of dharma and were troubling people. The poster has a strong and serious tone from a battlefield as someone lifts a powerful axe with blood spilled all over.
Makers talk about ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’
Sharing the poster, they also wrote, “Presenting the next from the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe. #MahavatarParshuraam Coming December 2027. Not a ruler, but a force against adharma, restoring balance across ages. Wishing you a blessed.”
Producer Vijay Kiragandur shared his thoughts. He said, “Our stories are our strength. With Mahavatar Parashuram, we aim to reconnect audiences with the power of our roots while presenting it in a format that resonates with today’s generation. This is a story of legacy, strength, and purpose.”
About ‘Mahavatar Cinematic Universe’
Speaking of the first film, ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’, it created a strong impact in theatres and a large part of the audience treated it like a spiritual experience. Some even prayed and removed their shoes outside the cinema halls. Now, the second film is expected to continue the journey. The film was directed by Ashwin Kumar and the music was composed by Sam CS.
