In a recent video, her son Ayushmaan Sethi revealed that he was defrauded of Rs 87,000 through a credit card fraud.He mentioned in his vlog that while trying out a site for its seven-day trial period, he was charged for a complete year’s service. This came as a shock to him, and he rushed to inform his parents while contacting his credit card company to stop the payment.He said, “My credit card got swiped for Rs 87,000.” Archana was shocked on hearing this and asked him to cancel the subscription. However, Ayushmaan said, “They took the money for the entire year under the pretext of a seven-day free trial.” Later, Parmeet laughed at a stressed Ayushmaan, and Archana said, “He will take that money from you. So what are you so happy for?”Ayushmaan later explained what exactly happened to his family members.
He said, “Someone has taken money from my credit card without my permission. They had these options for seven-day trials, promising they would charge after the seventh day. But they charged me for the entire year in one go… without asking my permission.”He further added, “It is not some shady website. I am using it, it is fine and useful. But they confused me regarding the seven-day free trial. First, they deducted a $0 transaction, which I approved.
Then after an hour, they took away Rs 87,000 without my permission.”Fans were quick to react to the incident in the comments section, with many expressing shock over how easily such scams can happen. Several users advised being cautious while signing up for free trials and urged others to always read the terms and conditions carefully. Some also sympathised with Ayushmaan, calling the situation “relatable” and sharing similar experiences of unexpected charges on their cards.
