Bokaro: Marking International Women’s Day, Bokaro police conducted a special anti-crime checking drive across the city on Sunday led by SP Harvinder Singh. The campaign was carried out primarily by women police personnel to promote safety and send a strong message about women’s empowerment.The drive was carried out at several major intersections and public places. Chas police station officer-in-charge Sushma Kumari, Sector-6 police station OC Sangeeta Kumari, Chas women’s police station OC Sunila Linda, and officer Meera Lakra, along with several other officers, participated in the operation.The SP said, “During the drive, vehicles were thoroughly checked at key points. Police inspected vehicles for traffic rule violations such as riding without helmets, driving without seat belts, and the use of black films on car windows.
Several motorists found violating rules were warned and advised to follow traffic safety norms.”Women riders who were found wearing helmets were appreciated and honoured by the women police personnel during the campaign.The SP also appealed to residents to immediately inform the police by dialling emergency number 112 in case of any criminal activity or if police assistance was required.
