CM lays stone for Rs18.11-crore project in Mokama, opens Parshuram Mela

In a significant boost to economic growth, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has officially opened a new commercial building worth Rs 18.11 crore and launched the Parshuram Mela in Mokama. He urged local officials to explore potential land for heavy industry development and promised enhancements to Mokama Hospital, underlining a united vision for a prosperous Bihar.

Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Monday, through video conferencing, laid the foundation stone of a commercial building construction scheme worth Rs18.11 crore on Parshuram Sthan premises in Mokama nagar parishad area under Patna district, and inaugurated the Parshuram Mela.Addressing the programme organised on the occasion, the CM said former CM Nitish Kumar has done considerable work for Mokama region. “In 2025, when I was deputy CM, I inspected this mela premises,” he said and added, “Work should be carried out to expand the mela and provide facilities for devotees.”Choudhary said Mokama is an important site for whose development several works have been undertaken. He said he has directed the district magistrate to identify land for developing heavy industry in this region.

“There is considerable potential for the development of heavy industry here. Affordable land in this area should be identified, acquired and a detailed framework prepared for industry,” the CM said.Choudhary also recalled how Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish developed bridges, four-lane roads and several other infrastructure projects, along with civic and basic amenities in the region. “All of us will have to work together to make Bihar more prosperous,” he said.

Choudhary further said Union minister Rajiv Ranjan alias Lalan Singh and Mokama MLA Anant Kumar Singh have requested the development of better healthcare facilities at Mokama Hospital. “It is everyone’s wish that this hospital be improved, and the govt will work towards it,” he assured.The programme was also addressed by Union minister Lalan Singh, both deputy CMs Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav.Later in the evening, the CM paid a courtesy call on Nagaland governor Nand Kishore Yadav at the latter’s residence in Patna City. Choudhary presented a bouquet to Yadav while the governor congratulated and extended his best wishes to Choudhary on being appointed the new CM.
