Daltonganj Robbery: Two Arrested for Shooting Woman, Stealing Rs 3 Lakh and Laptop

Daltonganj: Two men were arrested for allegedly shooting at a 42-year-old woman under Ramgarh police station limits of the district on April 13. The assailants, three in total, also robbed Rs 3 lakh and a laptop from Shama Parveen and her husband Israfel Ansari, the police said.DSP Sadar Rajeev Ranjan said the two accused were identified Muslim Ansari, 23, and his accomplice Akash (19). “The main shooter is at large, but will be arrested soon,” he said. Ranjan did not reveal the identity of the third accused.Shama and Israfel, who run a customer service point of a PSU bank in Hutar, were travelling to their workplace on a bike when the assailants intercepted them on a two-wheeler. Israfel was hit with the butt of a gun while Shama sustained two bullet injuries as the assailants fled the spot with money, laptop and documents.“Ansari, who is a local of Hutar, knew the couple and their daily routine. He had done a recce well in advance before executing the crime,” said Ranjan. On the night of April 12, Ansari called Akash, a resident of Daltonganj town, to come and join him for executing the crime. Police also recovered a country made gun, a bullet, two phones and around Rs 10,000 cash.
