New Delhi: Delhi BJP on Saturday launched a campaign in support of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, releasing a missed call number to mobilise public backing.BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat and party leader Bansuri Swaraj on Saturday addressed a joint press conference and launched a campaign in which they urged citizens to give a missed call on 9667173333 to register support and announced the hashtag #NariShaktiVandan.
The event was coordinated by state office-bearers, including spokesperson Neoma Gupta and other Mahila Morcha leaders.Swaraj said that women’s voter turnout has surpassed men’s but representation in Parliament remains low. She urged all parties to support the measure to ensure 33% reservation for women in legislatures.
