Dhanbad: A coal trader identified as Manish Singh sustained grievous injuries after being shot by unidentified bike-borne miscreants near Shakti Chowk on Wednesday.Singh was travelling in his SUV when the attackers, who were allegedly waiting for him, intercepted and fired multiple rounds at him.
The assailants fled the spot after one of the bullets struck his chest.Locals rushed the injured trader to a nearby private hospital. However, doctors referred him for advanced medical care to West Bengal. Singh’s condition is reported to be critical.“Teams have been deployed to investigate the case and assured that the culprits would be identified and arrested soon,” SSP Prabhat Kumar said. Police sources said the attack could be due to a business dispute or an old rivalry.
