Dhanbad Retired Army Personnel House Robbed: Lakhs in Cash and Jewellery Stolen

Dhanbad: A group of masked criminals robbed the house of a retired Army personnel and fled with cash and valuables worth lakhs at Mishridih Mor, 10 km from district headquarters, on Tuesday night.Around 10 armed miscreants entered the house of retired soldier Kailash Prasad Mishra at night, held the children hostage at gunpoint, and looted approximately Rs 3.5 lakh in cash and gold and silver jewellery worth nearly Rs 20 lakh. In an attempt to destroy evidence, the criminals damaged the CCTV cameras installed in the house and fled with the DVR system.Mishra said that he went to sleep on the terrace after dinner. He suspects that the criminals might have used some intoxicating substance as he did not wake up during the incident.DSP Shankar Kamti said that the police conducted raids in several areas following the incident. He confirmed that the investigation is underway and some clues have been obtained.
