Haridwar: A 25-year-old doctor from Bihar died in a road accident on the Bahadrabad–Delhi highway while he was on his way to Bahadrabad community health centre (CHC) in Haridwar district for his internship.Rituraj, who studied at Motherhood University, Roorkee, was undergoing a six-month training at the CHC. Police said the incident took place late Wednesday night while he was riding a scooty when a Delhi-registered vehicle allegedly hit him, killing him on the spot. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and police have launched a search to trace him.Bahadrabad SHO Amarjeet Singh told TOI, “Rituraj, a resident of Bettiah in Bihar was going to the health centre for duty when he met with an accident.
The body has been handed over to his family after a postmortem and an FIR is being registered.”Head of CHC, Dr Aarti Bahl, said, “Rituraj was a very talented and disciplined intern and performed his duty with dedication. His sudden demise has shocked us. His college administration has been informed and we have asked for stern action against the driver.”
