Anupamaa actress Adrija Roy believes Women’s Day is much deeper than just a celebration on social media. For her, it is a day filled with meaning, emotion and pride. “Being a woman is the greatest blessing in the world,” she says sincerely.
“It is about feeling proud of who we are and being grateful for the strength we carry inside us.” She adds that Women’s Day is also about remembering the struggles of women who came before us. “It is reflection, gratitude, strength and self love, all of it together,” she shares.Talking about empowerment, Adrija explains how its definition has changed with time. “Earlier, people thought an empowered woman had to be bold and outspoken.
But today, empowerment means choice,” she says. According to her, true empowerment lies in deciding your own path, whether it is career, family or both, without seeking validation.

She also recalls her experience in Imlie, where her character showed emotional resilience during difficult phases.Adrija also opened up about facing gender bias, and says, “There were moments when I was told certain decisions are not suitable for a girl. But I chose to work harder and prove that talent has no gender.” She adds that such experiences taught her resilience and strengthened her identity as an artist.“Women today are a guiding force,” she concludes. She believes financial independence builds confidence and decision making power, though society still needs mindset changes. “The day society stops questioning a woman’s ambition, that day Women’s Day will truly become a celebration of equality achieved.”
