Patna: The controversy surrounding Independent MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav’s remarks on women in politics continues to escalate with a written application demanding registration of an FIR submitted at Shastri Nagar police station in Patna. The application was filed by Reena Kumari Chaudhary, JD(U) state secretary and a resident of Teghra in Begusarai district, who described the MP’s comments as hurtful, obscene and defamatory. In her written application, Reena said the statements represent a direct attack on the character, self-respect and social dignity of all women participating in the political and public sphere.
