Kerala is all set to get back to the polling booth to elect the sixteenth legislative assembly on Thursday, April 9. This year, the candidates’ list is much more interesting, as there are many celebrities making their debut into politics.

Not just movie actors, even TV celebrities are set to try their luck in this year’s assembly election. Here is a look at the TV stars who are seeking public votes this time.

Bigg Boss Malayalam winner Akhil Marar is one of the TV celebrities contesting in the election this year. Akhil is contesting from the Thrikkakkara constituency, representing the Twenty20 party. Movie director Akhil Marar became a household name among the Malayali audience with his entry into Bigg Boss Malayalam 5.

Thanks to his game plan, he grabbed the winner’s title with a record public vote.

Robin Radhakrishnan

Bigg Boss Malayalam fame Robin Radhakrishnan is the next name on the list. He is contesting as the NDA candidate from the Kundara constituency. A doctor by profession, social media influencer Robin Radhakrishnan became a household name after his entry into Bigg Boss Malayalam 4. Despite getting expelled from the show for physically assaulting an inmate, Robin managed to gain a huge fan following.

Even after the show, Robin managed to secure his fan base with his social media posts and videos.

Parasparam actor Vivek Gopan is also set to seek the public vote this year. He is also representing the BJP from Thiruvananthapuram’s Aruvikkara constituency. Vivek Gopan is one of the known faces in the Malayalam entertainment industry. He made his debut with the popular show ‘Parasparam,’ and his character is still loved by fans.

After Parasparam, he was seen playing meaty roles in shows like Thenum Vayambum, Karthika Deepam, and more.

Currently, he is playing a meaty role in ‘Anju Sundarikal.’ Not just on TV, Vivek was much more active in movies too. Kuttanadan Blog and Bazookka were some of his movies. It is not the first time that Vivek will be contesting in the elections. He had contested in the 2011 Kerala Legislative Assembly election from the Chavara constituency.
