Panaji: Apart from Goa being the land of sand, sun and the sea, the state is also at the forefront of spirituality and cultural values, said chief minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday.Speaking at the Gomantak Janak Bhagwan Parashuram Avtaran Mahotsav, he said, “This is the first time the people will get to experience and live the life of Parashuram right on the banks of the Mandovi river.
” The mahotsav is organised by Rashtriya Parashuram Parishad and Panaji Nav Varsha Swagat Samiti, in collaboration with the department of information and publicity and the Entertainment Society of Goa.Sunil Bharala, founder of Rashtriya Parashuram Parishad, said, “There should be a research centre dedicated to Parashuram and his life, so that people from national and international research ecosystems can propagate his ideas.”The Mahotsav concluded with a Mahaarti and a 25-minute light and sound show on the life of Parashuram, which will be open to the public until April 26.
