Citizens in Uttar Pradesh who missed getting on the voter list, and young people about to vote for the first time, get another chance today. Special registration camps will run at every polling booth across the state on Saturday, October 24, ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, on ECI orders.

Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present at all booths from 10 am to 4 pm, Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said. Eligible residents can walk into their nearest booth and apply, with a help desk at each polling station to guide them.

The drive follows the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of the rolls, which left some eligible people out.

People left out after SIR-2026 and first-time voters must fill Form-6. Those who already have a voter ID but need to correct their name, address or other details must fill Form-8. The roll will be updated after the form is processed, officials said.

Those applying offline have been asked to bring a recent colour passport-size photograph and self-attested photocopies of documents showing date of birth and place of residence.

If available, they should also carry the voter ID (EPIC) number of a family member. Officials said voters will also be told that Form-6 can be filled online as well as offline.

Rinwa has directed all District Magistrates and District Election Officers to ensure BLOs arrive on time, enough Form-6 copies are available, and the camps are widely publicised. National and state-level political parties and social organisations are also to be informed. The aim, the Election Commission department said, is that no eligible citizen is left off the rolls.
