ISL: Mumbai City hold Bengaluru FC to goalless draw

Mumbai City vs Bengaluru FC

BENGALURU: In their final home game of the ISL season, Bengaluru FC dominated possession against Mumbai City FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here on Saturday, but a goalless draw left the Blues frustrated after they failed to convert their chances. It was a similar story for the visitors, who also created openings but lacked the finishing touch in front of goal.

The stalemate notwithstanding, the home side acknowledged the 14,723 Blues faithful in attendance. The expressions on several players’ faces reflected the disappointment of dropping points in a crunch fixture. With both teams sharing a point, BFC moved up to fourth place with 16 points, while Mumbai (19) remained third behind leaders Mohun Bagan Super Giant (20) and FC Goa (19). Both teams have three matches left before the season concludes next month.Mumbai threatened midway through the first half, and one early chance fell to Akash Mishra, whose side-footed shot was palmed away to safety.
