Religious & social leaders cast votes, express views on who will win poll
KOTTAYAM: Prominent religious heads and leaders of social organisations cast their votes on Thursday. NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair who cast his vote at St Theresa’s School, Vazhappally, Changanassery stated that while he is not expressing an opinion on whether a change in govt is needed, democracy should prevail.“Democracy must succeed, and every vote should be cast after considering the current circumstances. We are not saying whether there should be a change in govt or not. Whoever wins should come to power. Democracy must succeed, and people should adopt a stance accordingly,” he said. “The culprits in Sabarimala gold theft case should be punished. I believe govt and the court are investigating it properly. Let that proceed,” said Nair.
When asked if there is a wave in favour of any party in the election, he said, “I am not saying anything about that right now.”
