The Lenskart controversy has once again come back into focus on social media, with a new viral video pushing the issue into trending conversations. Over the last few hours, the clip has been widely shared, drawing mixed reactions and restarting the debate around the brand. This time, the discussion has picked up after a man was seen protesting in a way that quickly caught people’s attention online. The video has now become a key part of the ongoing chatter.
Man smashes glasses in viral clip
In the video, the man claims that he bought a pair of glasses from a Lenskart store. Soon after stepping out, he is seen throwing them on the ground and breaking them. While doing this, he says, “Hindu se itni nafrat kyu, jo hindu dharam ka nahi, hindu dharam unka bhi nahi.”The act is being linked to claims circulating online about restrictions on wearing bindis and tilaks at Lenskart workplaces. However, the video itself only shows his protest and statement, without directly confirming these claims.
Questions over authenticity
As the clip spread, many users began questioning whether the purchase was real. One user commented,“Mein nahi maanta ke isne sahi me lenkart [sic] se NEW sunglasses liye the… He should have filmed himself actually PAYING Rs10k-12k (or whatever he claims to be able to afford), and then take it out of the shop to break it in an UNCUT video… Tab tak to iska virodh FAKE hai..”
These reactions show that some viewers are not fully convinced by the claim.
Users criticise the act
Several people also criticised the decision to destroy the glasses after buying them. One comment read, “hahah … Bhai ko koi realise karwao apne hi paiso ko laat se kuchla hai … matlab Laxmi mata (Bhagwan) ko kuchla hai … he paapi tujhe nark mein bhi jagah nahi milegi”Another user suggested a different approach, “Instead of breaking can give it to a child who needs glasses [sic].”
Sharp and divided reactions
The video has also led to strong and sarcastic remarks. One user wrote, “Average IQ level of bhakt.”Another comment highlighted the publicity angle, “Lenskart ke free ma [sic] advertisement ho rahe hn [sic]”There were also claims questioning the intent behind the act. One user said, “He paid for it with money he was given by an antinational [sic] agency ..to do this idiocrisy [sic]. It’s all showbaazi …apne paise se khareedta toh aukaat nahi thi todne ki”Disclaimer: This article is based on viral social media content and user comments.
