BHOPAL: In a shocking incident, an 11-year-old boy was found brutally murdered and his body stuffed inside a drum in a locked room near Siddharth Nagar area in Satna on Monday.The victim, a student of class V, was living with his mother and siblings in a rented accommodation.According to police, the child was alone at home on Monday when the incident took place. His mother, who works as a domestic help, returned around 12.30 pm to find the house locked from outside and the boy missing and his shoes lying near the locked door.
Murder that shook Satna
After failing to trace the boy, his family approached the Kolgawan police station and lodged a missing report. Following this, police reached the spot and broke open the lock in the presence of the family.
Inside the room, the police found blood splatters on the walls, a bloodstained pillow and a sickle. A blue drum kept in the room also had blood marks on its outer surface.When the drum was opened, the boy’s body was found inside with his throat slit, indicating that he was killed with the sickle and his body hidden in the drum. A forensic team later examined the scene and collected evidence, including the weapon and other materials.
During the initial investigation, suspicion fell on a man known to the family, who is currently absconding. Police said the accused had allegedly been pressuring the boy’s mother to marry him and had threatened her earlier.Police teams have been formed to track down the suspect, with searches underway at multiple locations.The body was sent for post-mortem, and a case was registered. Police said efforts are on to arrest the accused.
