However, no casualties were reported.Fearing the spread of the blaze in the congested marketplace, shopkeepers and locals immediately alerted the police and the fire department.Responding swiftly, fire tenders from Hazratganj and Alambagh fire stations rushed to the spot, with two vehicles from each station deployed initially. However, as the intensity of the fire became apparent, additional support was mobilised.Firefighters battled the blaze for over 40 minutes under challenging conditions. With the warehouse shutters locked and dense smoke hampering visibility, initial efforts were made from outside. Once the flames were partially controlled, fire personnel broke open the shutters and cut through tin sheds using heavy equipment to access the interiors.Officials said that the Mahima Electronics warehouse was completely gutted in the fire.
“By the time the fire was brought under control, most of the electronic items had been reduced to ashes,” they said.Fire station officer Ram Kumar Rathore said the fire was reported through the control room, and upon arrival, teams realised the magnitude of the blaze. “The shutters were closed, making firefighting difficult. We had to break them open to control the fire,” he said.Authorities are yet to ascertain the exact cause of the fire, and further investigation is underway.
