Man arrested for stabbing wife in Sonia Vihar

New Delhi: Four days after a 38-year-old woman was critically injured in an alleged stabbing by her husband in northeast Delhi’s Sonia Vihar, police have arrested the accused.The incident came to light on April 22. The woman was found with serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at AIIMS, police said.A case was registered under Section 109 (attempt to murder) of BNS.According to a senior police officer, the attack followed a sudden and heated argument between the couple, reportedly linked to an ongoing marital dispute. The accused, identified as 35-year-old Manoj Kumar, was traced and apprehended after a brief manhunt. During police verification, it also emerged that Kumar was previously been involved in a case related to abduction and murder.The incident adds to a growing list of cases involving spousal violence reported in the city in recent months. In Dec 2025, a 44-year-old man allegedly strangled his wife to death before dying by suicide at their home in central Delhi’s Anand Parbat. In a separate case the same month, a 48-year-old man allegedly strangled his wife during a quarrel over Rs 20 at their residence in east Delhi’s Kasturba Nagar, and later died by suicide after jumping in front of a train.
